    Two Churchman’s cigarette cards of Romany boxers Jimmy Walsh and Tommy Farr. Cigarette cards were used as advertising for cigarette companies. The cards have a photo of the boxer on one side and information about him on the reverse. They come from a set of 50 Boxing Personalities cards from 1938. Part of the Robert Dawson Romany collection.

    Pre-MERL list – '3 Churchman cigarette cards of Romany boxers Jimmy Walsh (2) and Tommy Farr.', MERL Miscellaneous note - Churchman's (originally W.A. & A.C. Churchman) was a British cigarette manufacturer based in Ipswich, Suffolk. The company was a subsidiary of John Player & Sons of Imperial Tobacco Co. They were well known for producing cards with sporting themes.
