This large marking gauge was used by a wheelwright in Braishfield, Hampshire. It consists of a square stick, one end of which is bound with a strip of lead. At the other end is a rectangular hole, where a marking point was probably fixed, but is now missing. It has a six-sided sliding perforated block.
