  • Description
    This marking gauge, a wheelwright and carpenter's tool for marking lines on wood, was used by the donor's father, a wheelwright in Ham, Wiltshire. It consists of a rectangular stick with a projecting steel point near one end. The sliding perforated wooden block is rectangular in shape, but with the longer sides slightly rounded.
