    DEACCESSIONED. Please note that this object no longer forms part of the Museum of English Rural Life collection and cannot be accessed at our institution. This hearse belonged to an undertaker in Whitwick, Leicestershire, whose name appears on the front board. It was designed to be pulled by a pair of horses via a central pole. It was made in about 1890. It has since been transferred to the Science Museum, in London.
