  • Description
Hay needles were used to compress hay when trussing hay by hand. Tools of this type pre-date the old hand press. This hay needle consists of a strong central iron bar which was driven into the truss. A thinner bar of iron is bent to form three sides of a rectangle and fixed to the central bar. It was used on a farm at Great Cornard, Suffolk.
