    A bannock spade was used for turning over the bannocks as they cooked. Bannocks are a traditional Scottish loaf.
    Bannocks are a traditional Scottish flat circular loaves made of oatmeal and water. They were cooked on a brander over an open fire. A bannock spade, like this one made of wrought iron, was used for turning over the bannocks as they cooked.
