  • Description
    This is a small, well worn, firmer chisel, also called a 'butt chisel'. It was used by the donor's father, who was a wheelwright and carpenter in Braishfield, Hampshire. It is stamped 'Cast Steel' on the shank. Firmer chisels have square parallel blades, and are often used for finer joinery work.
