A screw tap is a tool used to create a 'thread' on surfaces in order to make screws and nuts. This is a short, 'stubby' screw tap with a slight taper, which is 4 7/8 inches long. The thread has broken off in many places. It was used by the donor's father, who was a wheelwright and carpenter in Braishfield, Hampshire.
