Cup and saucer donated following their inclusion: exhibition 'Everyday stories of country folk: 60 years of The Archers & MERL: 1951-2011'.
This cup and saucer are part of a set, including a side plate, donated to the MERL following their inclusion in the 2011 exhibition 'Everyday stories of country folk: 60 years of The Archers and MERL: 1951-2011'. The tea cup is red in colour, with a white glazed inside. The saucer has a white glaze, and features a map of the fictional village of Ambridge. They were made by Washington Pottery, based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Ambridge crockery set, 1960s // This set was made by Washington Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent. Each item features a map of Ambridge village and pictures of places including Brookfield Farm and The Bull pub. The latter was based on The Bull Inn in Inkberrow. The set belonged to the late Mark Mason. He curated an exhibition here in 2011, celebrating 60 years of The Archers and of the MERL.
