This medal and accompanying box are part of a selection of items donated to the Museum by the Landscape Institute. This item comes from one of four boxes, donated on behalf of the Landscape Institute. This box contained a medal, a glass coaster, an Institute of Landscape Architects stamp, and a fly fishing kit. This medal is brass, oval in shape, and features an image of a bust, with the figure in question looking through a scope. This figure is set against a green background. Surrounding the edge of the medal are the words 'INSTITUTE OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS'. Four two-leafed crests frame the top, bottom, right, and left edges of the medal. On the reverse of the medal is inscribed 'K.W. AUSTIN'. The medal is attached to a smaller circular gold feature, inscribed in green with 'L ¦ A' . The medal is attached to a green velvet ribbon. The box has a hard outer casing, blue with a black dappled print and a gold pattern around its edges. The box is secured with a gold clasp. Inside the box the medal sits on a blue cushioned support.
