Linocut print. ‘The Great News’ depicts cartons of milk, cheese roundels and butter dishes with the message “More people than ever before are eating British cheese”, written in cursive text. A banner, or ribbon, frames the print - it spirals around a stream of milk which is flowing from a set of udders. The artist produced the relief print as a response to material consulted in the University of Reading’s Special Collections and the Museum of English Rural Life collection. The print is edition number 6/8 and is printed on Guarro ‘Super Alfa’ paper with black ink. The print is signed and dated by the artist. The print was acquired in a set of 4, including a hand-made presentation folio made by the artist.
