    4 overshoes worn when pulling a lawnmower to prevent damage to the turf. 'Coles Patent'. From J. B. Packer & Son at Uffington Forge, Oxon.
    A set of four overshoes for a horse, worn when pulling a lawnmower to prevent damage to the turf. They are made of leather and iron and are stamped with, 'Coles Patent' and '1st Quality'. They came from J. B. Packer & Son at Uffington Forge, Uffington, Oxfordshire. They were donated to MERL by Mrs Packer in 1981 as part of a collection of horseshoes.
