Tea Rose. 1 GROSS // BEST ENGLISH MAKE // WILL WASH WITHOUT DAMAGE // EXTRA LONG STRETCH // ELASTICS'. The label on the base reads '"EAGLE" // SUPERIOR QUALITY // Quality No. // Yds. // BEST ENGLISH MAKE // WILL WASH WITHOUT DAMAGE // EXTRA LONG STRETCH // ELASTICS'. The spool is part of a donation of a Singer sewing machine and a number of accessories, including bobbins, needles and spare machine parts, all of which belonged to the donor's mother, Marjorie Ellen Bunting, who was born in 1919 and received the machine for her 21st birthday. She used the sewing machine and accessories in her work as a seamstress in a very small hosiery factory in Bulwell, Nottingham. Her husband was a miner.
