    Matchbox with 4 bobbins. Belonged to, Marjorie Ellen Bunting, born 1919. Worked as a seamstress in a hosiery factory in Bulwell, Nottingham.
    This is matchbox containing four bobbins. Printed on the top of the box lid is 'ENGLAND'S // GLORY // BRYANT & MAY // ENGLAND // TRADE MARK'. On the side of the box lid is printed, 'BRYANT & MAY // 3p BRITISH MADE 3p // AVERAGE CONTENTS 52 // KEEP IN A DRY PLACE AND AWAY FROM CHILDREN.' On the base of the box lid is printed, 'He tells me he has a yacht, but it can't be very big. He says he keeps it in a basin. // "Gloucester Citizen" 943'. The box is part of a donation of a Singer sewing machine and a number of accessories, including spools, needles and spare machine parts, all of which belonged to the donor's mother, Marjorie Ellen Bunting, who was born in 1919 and received the sewing machine for her 21st birthday. She used the sewing machine and accessories in her work as a seamstress in a very small hosiery factory in Bulwell, Nottingham. Her husband was a miner.
