Description
Metal box containing spare parts for a Singer sewing machine. Belonged to Marjorie Ellen Bunting, who was born in 1919.
This is the second of two black, metal boxes containing spare parts for a Singer sewing machine. The word 'SINGER' is embossed on the top of the lid. The box is part of a donation of a Singer sewing machine and a number of accessories, including spools, needles and shuttles, all of which belonged to the donor's mother, Marjorie Ellen Bunting, who was born in 1919 and received the machine for her 21st birthday. She used the sewing machine and accessories in her work as a seamstress in a very small hosiery factory in Bulwell, Nottingham. Her husband was a miner.
