Oil painting of Manor Farm, Stanford Dingley, Berkshire. By Frank Ormrod in 1977. Ormrod was a lecturer in the Fine Art Department at the UoR.
This is an oil painting of Manor Farm in Stanford Dingley, Berkshire. It was painted by Frank Ormrod (1896-1988) in 1977. He moved to Manor Farm House in 1938 and Stanford Dingley provided the subject for many of his paintings. In addition to painting, Frank Ormrod also held a part-time teaching post at the Slade School of Fine Art in London and was a lecturer in the Fine Art Department at the University of Reading. His illustrations were featured in a number of books and wartime advertisements during the 1940s and in 1941 he became a member of the Reading Guild of Artists, of which he was Vice President from 1951-1958.
