First of all the mould, and the moulding table are sprinkled with sand and the moulder takes a lump of clay from the bench on his right hand side and flings it with some force into the mould. He then takes a strike or wire bow and takes off the superflous clay, placing it again in the heap. The moulded brick is then placed on a slab of wood or stone on the barrow, all ready to be taken to the drying sheds. This is a mould for a shallow tile. It is stamped IBBS'
