    A 'bull's eye' lantern purchased in Reading. Round in shape, containing an oil lamp.
    This small 'bull's eye' lantern was purchased by the donor in Reading. It is round in shape, containing an oil lamp and with one row of ventilators attached to a sheath which fits nearly inside the lantern. This sheath has two small discs, one red, one green, set in it, and when the top of the lantern is screwed round, the lamp shows green, red or white, according to which part of the sheath is between the lamp and the window.
