    This is Volume II of ‘Recording Britain’, a publication of four volumes which arose from the wartime project ‘Recording the Changing Face of Britain’ established by Sir Kenneth Clark. Artists were invited to make topographical watercolours and drawings of places and buildings of characteristic national interest. In total, over 1500 works were produced by 97 artists. Volume II covers Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Norfolk and Yorkshire. It was edited by Arnold Palmer and Geoffrey Cumberlege, and published by Oxford University Press, in association with The Pilgrim Trust, in 1946. This object was deaccessioned and reaccessioned into the University of Reading Library. Please note that this object no longer forms part of the Museum of English Rural Life collection and cannot be accessed at our institution.
