This hydrometer is part of a collection acquired from the University of Reading's Department of Food Science Processing Laboratories. It has a narrown bulb which is stained purple. It is used for measuring specific gravity at 60° F, on a scale of 0-100 (unites not stated and divisions of scale spreading out at the top) in dimensions of one.
