This hard back book, 'The English Counties', was published in 1948 by Oldhams Press Ltd. Each chapter features a different county and was written by a well-known writer of the day, such as H. J. Massingham and John Betjeman, with the book being edited by C. E. M. Joad. It has 512 pages with numerous black and white illustrations, and a hand-written dedication on the inside page. This object has been deaccessioned and reaccessioned in the University of Reading Library. Please note that this object no longer forms part of the Museum of English Rural Life collection and cannot be accessed at our institution.
