This Royal Horticultural Society medal was presented to Alfred Maskell, in recognition of 50 years of continuous service at Suttons Seeds. It is a round bronze medal, attached to a green ribbon, with two bronze bars, one inscribed with '50 YEARS'. One side shows a raised image of two men planting a tree, with the inscription 'FOR LONG SERVICE'. The reverside side shows a raised shield and the inscription 'A. MASKELL, THE ROYAL HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'. The medal is presented in a case. The medal was awarded on 14th October 1958. Alfred worked at the Trial Grounds off London Road, Reading.
