This spring balance was used to weigh milk. It was made by Salter in England, and is inscribed 'SALTER // MADE IN ENGLAND // TO WEIGH MILK // SPRING BALANCE No. 235'. It consists of a metal balance painted green with a circular white face, and it is calibrated in pounds (lbs) and pints. It was donated to the museum as part of a collection of material relating to Harold W. Burry, developer of Vaccar milking machines.
