  • Archival history
    Behind each receipt are the conditions upon which the land and premises are rented from the Earl; these conditions are summarised as follows; 1. all buildings, ditches, hedges etc should be kept in good condition and the land in good heart; 2. no part of the holding shall be underlet; 3. no old pasture land to be converted into tillage without leave in writing; 4. trees not to be touched in any way; 5. all manure belongs to the estate and should not be removed or any condition; 6. game rights belong to the land.
