Description
A hydrometer/lactometer from NIRD at the time of its closure 1992. It was also used at National Institute for Research in Dairying, Reading.
This is a hydrometer with cream coloured and made from plastic material. A graduated stem hangs from the bulb and is marked from 1-12. The instrument is contained in a polished wooden box which has the shape of the instrument. It consists of four parts which screw into each other. The lactometer came from the NIRD at the time of its closure in March 1992. It was also used at National Institute for Research in Dairying, Reading.
