  • Description
Docking iron unsold from the stock when it became illegal to sell them. Each side of the docking iron is overlaid with polished wood.
This docking iron was unsold from the stock of the donor's tool stores when it became illegal to sell them, so it was presented to the museum. Unlike older docking irons the steel of the knife blade runs the entire length of the handle and the non-cutting handle is also composed of steel, the hollow into which the knife moves being lined with it. Each side of the docking iron is overlaid with polished wood.
