Lever gate latch, marketed as the 'Fixagap Field Gate'. Instructions for construction with 'Proprietor: G. Wilson, Stoneacre, Bridgnorth'.
This is a metal lever gate latch, marketed as the 'Fixagap Field Gate'. It is attached to a fence post in a wire fence. The metal lever itself attaches to the fence post, and a hook at one end attaches to the wire. The instructions for construction of the gate are marked with 'Proprietor: G. Wilson, Stoneacre, Bridgnorth', but it is unclear whether or not this is the manufacturer. This gate latch was used on a small farm called Staddlestones, near Headley in Hampshire.
