  • Description
    This sickle was used by reapers to manually cut corn at Saffron Walden, Essex before the introduction of reaping machines. There are two partially illegible initials on the blade, possibly reading 'T' and 'B'. There is also an indentation on the inner edge of the blade near the handle where the thumb may rest.
