These thatching shears were made by Burgon and Ball, Ltd., for the thatching exhibit at the Festival of Britain. Thatching shears are used for trimming the edges of the eaves when the thatching is finished. They are identical to the ordinary type of sheep shears in use before electric clippers were invented.
