This oven peel came from Warwickshire, one of the few counties which had shallow ovens and therefore did not need long-handled peels.
This oven peel was used for lifting bread and cakes in and out of an oven. It came from Warwickshire, one of the few counties which had shallow ovens and therefore did not need long-handled peels to reach into the depths of the oven.
