    Thatching needle made for the Festival of Britain 1951. At one end there is an eye and a point, at the other a circular loop.
    This is a thatching needle made for the Festival of Britain in 1951. At one end there is an eye and a point, at the other a circular loop which prevents the needle from slipping right into the thatch. A thatching needle is used to secure the bunches of straw to the roof and to each other.
