  • Description
    This gouge was used by the donor at his wheelwright shop in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. It has a tubular shaft narrowing to a neck; the blade is rather sharply pointed though the edge is blunt. It is bevelled on the back of the blade, which is stamped with the name 'Pearson'. The handle has been split by a mallet.
