This is a maltster's leveller, used at Warwick Brewery. It is a maltster’s tool used for levelling of grain. There were two stages in malting when it was usually used, one on filling the steeping cistern to levels off the barley and skim off floating rubbish; the other to level the bed of green malt being loaded on the kiln.
