  • Description
This straw dolly, made in the shape of a crown, was made for the Festival of Britain by Fred Mizen at Great Bardfield. It is an intricate piece of decoration made up of the spiral plait characteristic of this type of straw work. The main pieces have as a base a long bunch of straw, round which the spiral plait is worked. The fleur-de-lys are made of the same plait more tightly woven and stiffened with wire.
