    Plaque indicating insurance against fire. Issued by Britannia Fire Insurance Company, which was founded in 1868.
    Fire insurance plaques are embossed metal signs, which were placed on the front of houses indicating they were insured against fire. This plaque was issued by Britannia Fire Insurance Company, which was founded in 1868. The Association was a fire insurance company and joined Anglo French in 18479. This plaque, in black, gold and red, shows Britannia with a spear and shield, with “BRITANNIA” impressed below.
