    This bobbin winder was said to be around 200 years old when it was donated to Carlisle Museum in 1947. It originally came from Bedfordshire.
    This bobbin winder was said to be around 200 years old when it was donated to Carlisle Museum in 1947. It originally came from Bedfordshire. The winder is made of mahogany and the wheel is decorated with turning. The four arms which hold the skein of cotton are constructed in one piece. There is a small drawer in the stand which contains the four pegs and a coil of wire.
