    Pewter teapot insulated at the top and bottom. Lid is missing but replaced with one that doesn't match.
    This is a round pewter teapot with a lightly decorated spout and handle, which is insulated at the top and bottom by two rings of shiny black material. The original lid is missing and has been replaced with one that doesn't match. The maker is unknown, but the numbers 4, 2219 and 22 are stamped on the bottom.

  • Archival history
    MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This is a pewter tea pot with no pretensions. The spout and handle are slightly decorated and the handle is insulated by two rings of shiny black material at the top and the bottom. The original lid is missing and has been very roughly replaced by an old lid of quite a different texture to the original. It is hinged to the pot, and the hinge is fastened down with a piece of wire. The numbers 4, 2219, and 22 are stamped on the bottom, but no maker’s name.', No Lavinia Smith No. recorded.
