Turnip pecks were used for lifting turnips and other root crops when feeding livestock.
Turnip pecks were used for lifting turnips and other root crops when feeding livestock. This turnip peck consists of a metal spike fixed to a wooden handle. The handle is very worn below the spike, suggesting that the turnips were perhaps knocked off by banging the handle against the edge of a wheelbarrow or similar object.
