MERL 'Handwritten accession' form (Institute of Agricultural History) – 'BROADCASTER // Description // This consists ofa wooden barrow with one wooden wheel, two legs and two handles. The wheel has a metal rim and the cogs and drive draft are painted green. There are no other broadcasters in the collection. // It is possible there has been some confusion as Accs Nos 62/236 - 62/240 and 62/207 were all entered in the Accession Register during July 1962.', Photocopy of archive item – '[insert] There is no maker's name on 62/207 but it is very similar to this seed barrow. [end insert] // PIERCE SEED BARROW // The Pierce Seed Barrow is a most useful implement for sowing Grasses, Clovers, etc., giving a 12' Sowing Width. // It is very light and handy and is fitted with a positive feed which ensures no missing of seed. The fittings are all easily accessible and reliable with accurate adjusting arrangement. // This Seed Barrow is substantially built by experienced and skilled craftsmen of best seasoned wood and is not a common mass-produced article. // At the low price charged for this Seed Barrow it is an implement no farmer with clover or grass to sow should be without.'
