  • Description
    This medal, from the Royal Agricultural Society of England, was presented to Mr Samuel Perkin, and is inscribed 'Skilled Agricultural Labourer'. Mr Perkin was employed for 52 years by Mr H. Shelley of Beacon Farm, Stafford, and also held the long service medal of the Staffordshire Agricultural Society. He lived at Hopton, and died in 1925. The medal has a case.

    MERL 'Handwritten catalogue' form – 'MEDAL // The medal is that of the Royal Agricultural Society of England. The caption reads 'Skilled Agricultural Labourer'. According to the attached cutting Mr Perkin was employed for 52 years by Mr. H. Shelley of Beacon Farm Stafford and also held the long service medal of the Staffordshire Agricultural Society. He died in 1925. His home was at Hopton.', Press Cutting - 'The late Mr. SAMUEL PERKIN, of Hopton, aged 81, who was for 52 years in the employ of Mr. H. Shelley of Beacon Farm, Stafford, and was the holder of Staffordshire Agricultural Society long service medal.'
