    This is a trivet toaster, a device used for grilling food in front of a fire. It is a very common type of toaster made for use in front of a grate or raised hearth. It consists of a toasting fork supported from a three legged trivet. The forks are adjustable, fitted to a slide which slides through the upright stem. It was used in Gold Hill, Wearhead, County Durham.
