Description
This adze was used in R. Middleton & Sons wheelwrights shop in Eddington, Hungerford, for trimming and shaping surfaces of wood. It is slightly saucered and basilled at the cutting edge, and has a thin hammerhead extension at the rear. The blade is inscribed with ‘J. Smith’ and the number ‘1’.
