Butter:
Butter making, like cheese, has a long history.
It too has gone through a transition over the centuries, from the farmhouse
to the automated production lines of the factory. Present day factories
are capable of producing vast amounts of butter compared to the now small
quantities of the farmhouse variety. Factory churns will make perhaps
1.5 tons of butter in just one session, and will usually have several
of these huge churns operating at once.
