Bio:
I have been involved in developing academic skills provision and university preparation programmes since 2008. Prior to this, I was a teacher and teacher trainer for nearly 10 years in France, Ecuador, Slovakia, Spain and the UK. During this time I delivered English language training for the state and commercial sectors, which included diverse opportunities such as teaching the Slovak military for the British Council Peacekeeping English Project. In the capacity of teacher training, I have worked on short courses with overseas teachers of English, and degree programmes in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. At the UoR, I provide academic writing, research, and oral communication support to all levels of students. I also lecture on the module 'Modern Britain 1' for Erasmus/Study Abroad students. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

A few personal comments:
My professional interests include syllabus and curriculum design, genres of academic writing in business management disciplines, and issues of student induction and transition.

External Examiner for the 8 week Pre-Sessional English Language Programme at the University of Surrey (since September 2018).
