Bio:

I gained my teaching qualification in 2007 before briefly tandem teaching at Die Freie Universit├Ąt, Berlin. I have predominately worked within the UK at private schools on project-based language courses as well as providing language and exam provision for young learners (International Students aged 6-18). In addition to delivering, co-ordinating and developing language provision on a variety of courses, I have also provided pastoral and welfare support to co-educational international students. I have been a been a school liaison and exam lead teacher for Trinity GESE and Drama Graded examinations and specialise in creating bespoke short courses tailored to key stages 4 and 5 syllabi for a variety of iGCSE and A Level subjects (Economics, English Literature and Language amongst others). Between young learner projects, I have taught Business English, Cambridge and IELTS exam preparation, and University preparation courses at private colleges and schools across the UK. I first joined the University in 2019 as a Pre-Sessional EAP teacher and currently teach on the International Foundation Programme.

Modules taught:
Pre-sessional courses (PSE EAP), International English (IFP), International English Plus (IFP) and Academic Skills (IFP).

A few personal comments:

Interests include maximising state school student performance and participation; compulsory state education structuring, funding & syllabi; and equity and accessibility within compulsory state education.
