Responsibilities:

China Scholarship Council (CSC) course tutor; Chinese University Administrators' Course CUAC course director.

Active Projects:
I provide weekly tutorial support to teachers of English on courses sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). In addition, I work with other colleagues to run intercultural workshops and assess the students at various points of the course.

I also act as course co-ordinator for the Chinese University Administrators' Course (CUAC). I request course input from a wide range of University and other external lecturers and speakers, and timetable all the input and visits to outside organizations. Due to the nature of the course, I offer some translation services, as well as coordinate a small team of other translators. Finally, I coordinate arrangements with administrative staff on issues such as cultural visits.

On top of the academic and managerial work mentioned above, I also offer pastoral care for participants on CSC courses and the CUAC course, as well as summer courses hosted by ISLI.

Bio:
I had been working as a secondary English teacher in China for over 13 years when I attended a residential course hosted by the University of Reading and funded by the Chinese government.
