John Porter, deceased, was one-time County Agricultural Advisor in Buckinghamshire.

The material amassed by him represents a most useful accumulation of advertising literature for the period c.1905-1923, issued mainly by firms dealing in animal feedstuffs, fertilisers and manures, insecticides, agricultural and horticultural seeds, vegetables, plants and flowers and dairy equipment.
