Research/Teaching Interests

Linda Shockey holds a PhD from the Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio). She specialises in acoustic and articulatory phonetics and aspects of phonology, such as Online Phonology, and the phonotaxis of syllables. She has also co-edited a collection of articles which appeared as In Honor of Ilse Lehiste, Foris, 1988.

Extracurricular Interests

Linda is a keen clarinettist and spends most of her time playing when she is not engaged in the activities specified above. She performs with a group called Sweet Harmony, who play 18th-century music in 18th-century costume. Other interests include cycling, gardening, reading, and travel.
