Professor Christopher Duggan

His books include Fascism and the Mafia (Yale University Press, 1989) and A Concise History of Italy (Cambridge University Press, 1994). He has recently completed a major biography of the 19th-century Italian statesman, Francesco Crispi, published in Italy, and subsequently in Britain as Francesco Crispi. From nation to nationalism (Oxford University Press, 2002). He is currently working on aspects of nation-building in 19th- and 20th-century Italy.
