Hub for enterprise
Your company's potential can be enhanced by working with some of the country's leading minds at the University of Reading. We can also work with you to develop your staff in order to help you compete in today's challenging environment, as well as provide you with fresh talent through our skilled graduates.
At Reading, a hub for enterprise, we recognise the important role universities play in supporting the regional, national and international knowledge economy. As well as the skills and knowledge of our staff we provide facilities for business start-ups and high tech companies. We aim to develop sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with business and industry and to support the exchanges of ideas, people and services with the business sector. Here at Reading, enterprise and innovation are not treated as separate parts of our mission, but are culturally embedded in our teaching, learning and research.
As a world-class research-intensive university covering a broad spectrum of disciplines across the Life and Physical Sciences, Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences, we work with businesses which operate in a variety of markets.
Enterprise forms an important part of the student experience at Reading and contributes to the employability of our graduates. We were the first university to make Career Management Skills a compulsory component of all our courses and have one of the largest Entrepreneurship programmes in the country, which is unique in offering entrepreneurship modules across all disciplines, not only to those studying business or management. We support student vacation work experience and actively seek to engage our business partners through their provision of student placements and opportunities for them to sit on our Advisory Boards, as well as contribute to the teaching component of our programmes.
